REGISTRATION OPENS NOW FOR 2023 Spring Season!
BASEBALL/SOFTBALL IS BACK!
Good Afternoon KRVLL,
Coaches: We are in need of coaches for all our divisions! We cannot run our try outs, or our season, without volunteer coaches. If you are interested in coaching, or helping at try outs, please respond to this email for more information. We will need all coaches to attend a meeting.
Umpires: We are also in need of umpires in order to have our season run well. There are upcoming, district clinics that we are in need of having volunteers attend. If you are interested, please email our UIC [email protected]
If you would like to help with events coming up, for example opening day, please respond to this email. We cannot make these events happen without the help of our community.
Sponsors: We are in need of sponsors for the 2023 season. If you, or anyone you know, would like to be a sponsor, please let us know.
If you have any questions, please respond to the email and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We look forward to hearing from you and are very excited for the 2023 season.
Thank you so much for your support!

1) Registration and Fees
Beginning January 1, 2023, registration will start on our website at KRVLL.com. Regular local division fees are $115/player. Interleague traveling division fees are $125/player.
All participants MUST be registered online to participate.
What your registration fees pay for: Registration fees only cover a small portion of what the league is required to forward as payment for supplies, services, and facilities. The funds also pay for the participants' uniform jersey, hat, and socks. Additionally, the fees assist in covering player insurance cost and the charter fee required by the National Little League. Other expenses that the league has to pay for are as follows, but not limited to, the following:
Field lease
Field maintenance
Field maintenance supplies
Chalk
Bases
Catchers gear
Baseball/softball equipment, bats, balls, gear bags, etc.
Coaching supplies
Trophies
Opening and Closing day ceremonies
Bathrooms/outhouses at the fields
Trash dumpsters/removal from the fields
Umpire supplies
Scorebooks
What is NOT covered by the registration fees are the year-round, priceless hours selflessly donated by all of our volunteers. Without volunteers, none of this would be possible.
4) Uniforms
Each player will receive a jersey, hat, and socks at the start of the season. You will receive information from your coach about what color baseball pants will be required to purchase before the first game. There will be more information to follow on the distribution of team uniforms.
5) Practices, Beginning in March
Practices are more critical than games – this is where the kids learn to play as well as learn the game. We will teach them the basics, but repetition and practice are how they improve. Coaches will advise you of your practice days/times and locations once teams are determined.
6) Coaching/Volunteering
We welcome any parents who are interested in assisting their team. They can do so as a Team Parent, help manage the dugout during games, assist with coaching, and more. Please let us know if you are interested. To be involved in any aspect of the league, and interaction with the players, a background check and volunteer application must be completed. Once you have been league approved, you will receive a badge that you will need to have visible at all league functions. Volunteers are what make this possible. Thank you in advance for helping our youth!
Coaching/Managing application: If you are interested in coaching in the 2023 season, please go to krvll.org and complete the application.
7) Games
Our games will be held around the Kern River Valley. The season starts in early April and ends in mid-June. We will distribute the schedule once it is available. Please let us know if your child will miss any games, preferably one day in advance of the game. League rules say we must have a minimum number of players on the field, or we forfeit the game.
8) Game Duties
Every game consists of a "home" and "away" team. Each team needs to perform its' designated game duties. The parents responsible for each game duty must be in place and have the assigned task completed before the game can proceed. Assigned responsibilities for "home" and "away" teams are as follows:
Home Team Duties:
- Field preparation before the game (Rake, drag, water, and Line Field 30 min before the start of the game)
- Scorekeeping
Away Team Duties:
-Concession (if your field has a stand). Work in the concession starting 30 min before the game until the end of the game
- Field clean-up after Game (rake field, focus on repairing mounds and batters box, remove bases and return all equipment to the sea train)
- Pitch Count for both teams (Major and Minor games only)
At least two parents/guardians will be needed to split scorekeeping between for each team; this is MANDATORY. A scorekeeping clinic will be held before the start of the season.
Umpires are one of the vital volunteer positions in the league, and we need more for all divisions. At least one parent/guardian from each team will need to attend an umpire clinic before the start of the season.
9) Baseball/Softball Equipment
All players must supply their baseball/softball cleats/footwear, glove, and protective cup (jock/jill).
For more information, visit www.krvll.com.
We look forward to seeing you this 2023 Little League season.
See you on the field!
